ANNIVERSARY OF DEATH OF BORIS TRAJKOVSKI

MOSTAR, FEBRUARY 26 (ONASA) – Today marks 19 years since the death of the former president of Macedonia, Boris Trajkovski, who tragically died in a plane crash on Matića hill between Stolac and Mostar.
On February 26, 2004, Trajkovski traveled to the International Investment Conference that was supposed to be held in Mostar.
Apart from him, six other crew members were also killed.
On the occasion of the anniversary, the delegations will lay flowers and pay tribute to Trajkovski and the other victims at the accident site today.
The plane carrying Macedonian President Boris Trajkovski, advisers from his cabinet Dimka Ilkova-Bošković, Risto Blaževski and Anita Lozanovska, employee of the Macedonian MFA Mile Krstevski, members of security Boris Velinov and Ace Velinovski, as well as pilots Marko Markovski and Branko Ivanovski , fell on February 26, 2004 in the area of Rotimlja between Mostar and Stolac.
The commission to investigate the cause of the accident, formed by the BiH Council of Ministers, first concluded that the cause of the plane crash was a procedural error by the pilot during the landing phase at the Mostar airport, which led to the plane hitting a hill.
It was later concluded that the pilots committed seven fatal errors.
The BiH Prosecutor’s Office has not charged anyone with the accident near Mostar.
