MINISTER OF SCIENCE, HIGHER EDUCATION AND YOUTH KS MESIHOVIĆ AND DELEGATION OF UNIVERSITY SARAJEVO ON STRATEGIC AND DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMS





SARAJEVO, MARCH 29 (ONASA) – The Minister of Science, Higher Education and Youth of the Sarajevo Canton, Adna Mesihović and her assistants held a meeting with the delegation of the University of Sarajevo, which included the vice-rector for finance, Prof. Dr. Tarik Zaimović, Vice-Rector for Scientific Research, Prof. Dr. Mirza Dautbašić and Director of the Center for Research and Development, Maja Arslanagić-Kalajdžić.
Vice Chancellor Zaimović presented some of the key strategic and development projects of the University of Sarajevo, and in the foreground were the “Open Research Network of the University of Sarajevo:
Strengthening of joint scientific research infrastructure, technology transfer and strengthening of cooperation with the private sector” – ORN and “Project framework for the construction of the University scientific research High-Performance Computing (HPC) system”.
Both projects were approved by the Management Board of the University of Sarajevo, as they aim to strengthen the overall scientific research capacities of the University and promote the development of the innovation ecosystem in the Canton of Sarajevo. In addition, concrete steps in the implementation of the concluded Agreement on the development of institutional and research infrastructure and equipment of the University were agreed at the meeting.
For the University, the implementation of the Agreement and infrastructure university projects represent a strategic investment that will help strengthen the overall research infrastructure and encourage the availability of the results of research efforts, improve the quality and quantity of the output of research activities, as well as contribute to the overall development of Sarajevo Canton and the country.
Minister Mesihović pointed out that the commitment of the Ministry is to support the development of UNSA, and to work together towards greater investment in education and science, and to strengthen cooperation between the educational, research and business sectors, reports the KS protocol and press service.
