USAID PRESENTS BOSNIA AND HERZEGOVINA IN JORDAN: PROMOTION AND DEVELOPMENT OF TOURISM SECTOR

AMMAN, MARCH 27 (ONASA) – The US government, through the US Agency for International Development (USAID), led a delegation of public institutions and the tourism sector of Bosnia and Herzegovina in Jordan, with the aim of promoting Bosnia and Herzegovina on a potentially key tourist market and collecting learning about Jordan’s extremely successful tourism industry.
During the nine-day tour, from March 15 to 24, representatives of the USAID Sustainable Tourism Development Project in Bosnia and Herzegovina (Tourism) promoted the tourist attractions of Bosnia and Herzegovina in front of 20 leading Jordanian tour operators at an event jointly organized by Turkish Airlines, the Chamber of Foreign Trade of Bosnia and Herzegovina (VTK BiH), the Tourist Board of Sarajevo Canton (Visit Sarajevo) and the Jordanian Association of Travel Agents (JSTA).
“After learning about Bosnia and Herzegovina’s beautiful landscapes, rich cultural heritage and warm hospitality, I will be happy to start working on bringing Jordanian tourists to Bosnia and Herzegovina,” said Sultan M. Batayneh, Managing Partner of Nashmi Travel, adding: “I am convinced that Bosnia and Herzegovina has great potential to become a key tourist market for Jordanian travelers.”
USAID Tourism helps build the tourist brand of Bosnia and Herzegovina in strategic markets around the world, encouraging more tourists to visit Bosnia and Herzegovina, and creating quality jobs in Bosnia and Herzegovina. tourism and service sectors.
With its impressive natural beauty, cuisine and culture, Bosnia and Herzegovina can be an inspiring and attractive destination for travelers from Jordan and other Eastern Mediterranean countries.
The US government has also provided significant support to Jordan’s tourism industry, beginning in the 1960s, when USAID restored key sites at the now-famous archaeological site of Petra. Today, tourism is a vital sector for the Jordanian economy and is a positive example of how to successfully develop tourism as an engine of sustainable economic growth.
During their stay in Jordan, the Bosnia and Herzegovina delegation also learned more from leading Jordanian government and tourism officials about the country’s successes in developing its tourism industry, gaining valuable insights that can be used to strengthen Bosnia and Herzegovina’s tourism industry.
