SARAJEVO, JANUARY 31 (ONASA) – Police Commissioner Nusret Selimović submitted his resignation to the Minister of Internal Affairs and the Government of Sarajevo Canton.

“Protecting the integrity of the position of police commissioner, I decided to submit my resignation to the Minister of Internal Affairs and the Sarajevo Canton Government. Although we had the opportunity to hear that “the conscious implementation of someone’s agenda to weaken the security system” is at work, my conscience is completely clear, because I know that I led honorable people in the Police Department of the MUP of Sarajevo Canton whose only agenda, as well as my own , protection of life and property of all citizens of Sarajevo Canton, fight against all forms of crime, especially against organized crime and corruption.
I inform the public that as a conscientious and responsible person and police professional, I will continue to perform the duties of the police commissioner in full capacity until the creation of legal assumptions for the appointment of a police officer to replace the commissioner”, it was stated in the statement of the Ministry of Interior of the KS.
