SKI TRACK IN BJELAŠNICA IS NAMED ‘JURE FRANKO’ FROM TODAY



SARAJEVO, FEBRUARY 9 (ONASA) – A track named “Jure Franko” was opened today in Bjelašnica.
The track is named after the silver medalist in the giant slalom at the 1984 Winter Olympic Games in Sarajevo, Jure Frank.
“Thank you for all the wonderful words. I’m touched and excited, it’s something that doesn’t happen to me every day, and actually it’s happening for the first time in my life. There’s a big difference between what the Olympics is and what we’re seeing now,” he said. Franco.
He invited his friend Bojan Križaj to the stage, who thanked Sarajevo for this event.
“This will be the concept of sports success. The Olympic Games are the dream of every athlete, and we had the extraordinary honor of having them in our country. Such a memory and such an honor that Jure received is something phenomenal,” Franko added.
The opening of the ski slope was also attended by the President of Slovenia Nataša Pirc Musar, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina Elmedin Konaković, Prime Minister KS Nihad Uk, Head of the EU Delegation Johhann Sattler and others.
