CENTAR SARAJEVO MUNICIPALITY: CAPITAL PROJECTS FOR IMPROVING CONDITIONS IN CENTER SCHOOLS



SARAJEVO, FEBRUARY 9 (ONASA) – In the premises of the “Alija Nametak” Elementary School, a regular session of the active principals of elementary schools from the Center and JU “Center for Hearing and Speech Rehabilitation” was held.
The Mayor of the Municipality of Centar, Srđan Mandić, was present at the meeting together with Councilor Aida Koluder-Agić and Assistant for Education, Social Activities, Culture and Sports Lejla Dizdarević.
On this occasion, capital investments during the past and this year from the budget of the Municipality of Centar were discussed. – One of the main priorities of the municipal administration is education and sport, which is how we create good foundations for our youth for further development and advancement in life.
During the past year, we allocated an amount of 286,725 KM from the municipal budget for the implementation of capital projects to improve the conditions of residence of students and staff in schools.
Every year we increase this amount according to our capabilities. Soon we expect the adoption of the budget of the Municipality of Centar for this year, which will allow us to continue this process, which in my opinion is an investment with the most benefits, explained Mayor Mandić, after which they discussed the most priority capital projects that could be implemented this calendar year with the financial support of the Municipality of Centar .
Last year, in accordance with the individual priorities of the schools, the procurement of necessary school and office furniture, equipment, equipping of school libraries, school aids, IT equipment, renovation of the heating system, rehabilitation of the parquet, rehabilitation of the school field and sports hall, procurement of equipment was initiated for the mentioned amount last year. for the sound system, installation of a new PVC substrate in the cabinet…
On this occasion, assistant Dizdarević informed the attendees about the dates of the swimming school, which will be held at the Olympic pool on the island. -During the second half of the year, from February 12 to March 29 this year, it is planned that over 660 students of the fourth grade of elementary schools from the Center will undergo training at the swimming school. This project is financed by the Municipality of Centar in the amount of 30,000 KM, explained Dizdarević.
In honor of the upcoming celebration of the 31st anniversary of the establishment of the 105th Motorized Brigade, it is planned that all schools submit the three best literary and artistic works whose authors will be awarded, and there was a discussion about the history lessons that the veterans of this brigade will hold for the students of 11 elementary schools from the Center and JU “Center for Hearing and Speech Rehabilitation”.
Representatives of the Association of Beekeepers of Sarajevo Canton presented their project “Honey workshops” intended for students from four elementary schools in the Center from 4th to 9th grade. Through this project, the educators would guide the students about the importance of beekeeping as one of the most important branches of agriculture, about the importance and role of the bee in nature, and about the use of bee products in the diet of especially the youngest. It is also planned for the students to participate in the construction of a hermetically sealed glass beehive, where they would place a bee colony.
This project, which will include about 320 students, was also financially supported by the Municipality of Centar.
