MOSTAR: SIGNING AGREEMENT ON ESTABLISHMENT OF AIRLINE LINE MOSTAR – BELGRADE

MOSTAR, FEBRUARY 2 (ONASA) – The contract between the City of Mostar, Air Serbia and Mostar Airport on the establishment of the Mostar – Belgrade – Mostar air line was signed today in the City Hall (GV) Mostar.
The first flight on this route will be on April 15, the starting price is 56 euros one way, or 104 euros for a return trip in economy class.
The Mayor of Mostar, Mario Kordić, pointed out that the signing of this contract is of great importance for the city, but also for the region of Herzegovina.
“The ambitions were much more modest when we launched the Aerodome revitalization project three years ago. Mostar Airport must be a generator of the development of Herzegovina and Mostar, and today I can happily say that we have achieved a good result. “Mostar is connected to four important hubs, namely the centers of Munich, Rome, Belgrade and Zagreb,” said Kordić.
Air Serbia Commercial and Strategy Director Boško Rupić said that for them this represents the continued expansion of traffic in the region.
“Mostar is the 17th destination in the territory of the former Yugoslavia, we expect that there will be passengers on this route in both directions. We expect that passengers traveling through Belgrade will also fly, as far as possible in Europe, and there are also connections to the United States of America. Tickets are already available for sale from nine o’clock this morning,” Rupić said.
Federal Minister of Transport and Communications Andrijana Katic said that in 2023, this ministry and the FBiH Government secured 1,300,000 marks for subsidizing flights.
“We will not stop there. This year, we have earmarked funds for the improvement of public transport in the amount of seven million marks,” Katic said.
The director of Mostar Airport, Marko Đuzel, said that it is rare that any airport can boast of having four hubs.
“It’s not presumptuous to say, they have airports with a lot of lines, but these four hubs, Munich, Rome, Zagreb and Belgrade, mean a lot. Eighty destinations, Western Europe, America, that segment of transit passengers will mean a lot to us. Directly from Mostar, we are connected to six destinations, which is a record, because there have never been more than three, and if we were to multiply, where you can get everything from Belgrade, Munich, Rome, I think there are more than 100 destinations,” said Đuzel. .
Tickets are available for sale from nine o’clock this morning, and ticket prices are 56 euros one way and 104 euros return with all taxes. (end) N.H.
