REPORT OF EUROPEAN COMMISSION AGAINST RACISM AND INTOLERANCE FOR BIH: SOCIAL PROTECTION IN SARAJEVO CANTON AS EXAMPLE OF PROMISING PRACTICE



SARAJEVO, JANUARY 23 (ONASA) – In the latest report of the European Commission against Racism and Intolerance (ECRI), in the part of the report on integration and inclusion, as well as care and protection, and ensuring basic health care needs for children of the Roma population, as an example of good Mobile teams that operate within the Cantonal Center for Social Work in Sarajevo Canton are highlighted in practice.
These mobile teams are tasked with providing assistance to Roma children who spend most of their time on the streets and suffer various forms of neglect.
This help is reflected in the provision of daycare services or temporary accommodation for these children.
ECRI praised the implemented activities, as well as the way the Sarajevo Canton and the Ministry of Labour, Social Policy, Displaced Persons and Refugees operate in the field of social protection, which are in line with EU standards. It was pointed out that other cantons in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina will follow these good practices.
The European Commission against Racism and Intolerance (ECRI) was established by the Council of Europe. It represents an independent human rights monitoring body, specialized in issues related to racism and intolerance, the KS Protocol and Press Service announced.
