CEFTA REMAINS DEDICATED TO PROMOTING ECONOMIC GROWTH, EXPANSION OF TRADE AND SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT IN WESTERN BALKANS



SKOPJE, JANUARY 23 (ONASA) – Acting Director of the CEFTA Secretariat, Danijela Gačević, addressed the participants of the “Western Balkans and the EU” meeting in Skopje, emphasizing the key role of CEFTA in advancing the initiative for the Common Regional Market and fostering closer ties between the economies of the Western Balkans. and European Union markets.
At the meeting, Gačević confirmed CEFTA’s unwavering commitment to the improvement of economic integration, trade liberalization, digitization and regional cooperation between its parties.
“The implementation of the existing Action Plan for the Common Regional Market and the creation of a new one are of vital importance for creating new opportunities, attracting investments and improving cooperation in CEFTA with the EU,” Gačević said, adding that CEFTA’s activities were crucial for harmonizing economies. of the Western Balkans with the principles and standards of the European Union by harmonizing regulations, improving access to the market and fostering a business environment suitable for attracting foreign investments.
“The new Action Plan gives us the opportunity to bring ambitions and innovations to the trade arena, in line with the vision of the New Growth Plan. This synergistic approach not only encourages growth within the Western Balkans, but also encourages improved cooperation with the EU”, stated Gačević and reminded on what has been done so far: “Our joint efforts are directing the economies of the Western Balkans towards the European Union, bringing us closer to the common goal of a more prosperous and stable region”.
