SARAJEVO: FESTIVAL ART & LIGHT OPENED WITH LIGHT PERFORMANCE




SARAJEVO, DECEMBER 30 (ONASA) – After the opening in Radićeva Street, the festival continues on Susan Sontag Square with interactive 3D mapping by Pixel design from Dubrovnik.
The second Art&Light festival opened with a light performance in Sarajevo’s Radićeva Street, a kind of outdoor stage where artists express their creativity through light.
One installation of the Festival is dedicated to the Husin miner. It is about the sculpture and accompanying performance “Husinski rudar: My past is your future” by Branko Šimić.
The director of the Art&Light festival, Edina Selesković, said that the work was done in partnership with the KRASS Kultur crash festival from Hamburg and the Museum of Eastern Bosnia, Tuzla.
Speaking about the symbolism of this installation, Selesković said that it is a symbol of resistance, a symbol of the fight against injustice, and that in some way it was brought from history to the present.
She also pointed out that this year’s Art&Light festival, which will last until January 2, is different from last year’s because installations from Germany, Croatia, and Slovenia have arrived in Sarajevo this time.
Thus, “Swings in the Clouds” are a gift from the Zagreb Light Festival, which is the largest festival of its kind in our region. There is also a display/installation created by students of the Sarajevo Academy of Fine Arts and the Slovenian artist Matej Bizovičar, who came from the “Light Guerrilla” Festival. In Ljubljana.
Students of the Sarajevo Academy of Fine Arts also presented the installations “Kolo” and “Mustra”.
– Most of the installations are interactive and I hope the audience will enjoy them – said Selesković, stressing that the goal is to connect the youth of Bosnia and Herzegovina. artists with artists from around the world.
