SUCCESSFUL COLLABORATION PE HIGHWAYAND BH TELECOM – ALL TUNNELS ON A1 HIGHWAY COVERED BY MOBILE NETWORK

SARAJEVO, MARCH 28 (ONASA) – Between the Public Enterprise Highway of the Federation of BiH and BH Telecom in the office building of this BiH. operator’s cooperation on providing a mobile network in the tunnels on the constructed part of the A1 highway on the route of Corridor 5c was verified yesterday.
These are the tunnels Ričice, Pečuj, March 1, Gaj, Vis, November 25, Grab and Ivan with a total length of 22,409 meters.
“As two public companies serving the citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina, we make every effort to provide them with the best quality of services. We will certainly continue to do this in numerous other projects in the future”, emphasized the director of the FBiH Highway Elmedin Voloder.
The contract on the use of road land and existing infrastructure of PE Autoceste FBiH for the provision of telecommunications services in the tunnels on the A1 highway was signed for the next 20 years, which solves the issue of mobile network signals in the tunnels on the A1 highway for a longer period of time.
“For this mobile network coverage, BH Telecom has installed two new base stations that transmit the signal in the tunnel using the most modern equipment. I am very pleased that we have made it easier for our users to use services in the BH Telecom network”, said Sedin Kahriman, General Manager of BH Telecom.
At the end of August last year, PE Autoceste FBiH sent an invitation to all telecom operators in Bosnia and Herzegovina to start a mobile signal in the tunnels in order to improve the quality of services for users.
In this regard, at the beginning of last month, the Government of the FBiH adopted a Regulation on the amendment of the Regulation on criteria for the calculation of fees for the use of road land and fees for the performance of related activities on highways and expressways in the Federation of BiH.
The amendment stipulates that the amount of the fee for telecommunication signal coverage for telecom operators in tunnels on highway sections is determined monthly in convertible marks per meter of self-radiating cable for the radio signal, and that this fee for highways now amounts to 0.05 BAM, and for expressways 0.03 BAM per metro line.
By amending the Regulation, the amount of compensation was corrected and made acceptable to telecom operators.
At the same time, PE Autoceste FBiH Ltd. Mostar will be able to generate income from this service, which was not the case until now, and users of the highway will be provided with greater safety and better services, announced the press of PE Autoceste FBiH.
