SARAJEVO, MARCH 20 (ONASA) – The Government of the Canton of Sarajevo has established the Budget Proposal for 2023, according to which the planned amount of budget funds of the Ministry of Economy of the KS is the largest so far and amounts to 120 million BAM.
The Minister of Economy, Adnan Delić, announced that the budget funds of the Ministry are of a developmental nature.
In them, for the first time, research into the potential of natural resources was recognized, for which the Ministry planned half a million BAM, while a million BAM was earmarked for the establishment of the Entrepreneurship Development Center with an incorporated business incubator.
“We recognized the importance of high-quality and responsible management of natural resources and in this budget planned funds for natural resource research, in order to provide potential investors with a catalog of concession fields based on which they will be able to plan investments that include a concession at no cost. In addition, in this way, we provide all potential investors with an equal initial opportunity and the possibility to apply for the use of natural resources, which is an additional contribution to more transparent management and granting of concessions. With the new Law on Concessions, we are rounding off the process of managing concessions, and we can certainly expect higher revenues in the budget on this basis,” said Minister Delić.
The Ministry of Economy continuously invests in the development of infrastructure in business zones in the Canton area, and new in this year’s budget are funds for the establishment of a new business zone “Doglodi”.
Delić pointed out that significant increases in the budget are also planned for agricultural production, i.e. domestic food production, as well as for the further development of tourism and tourist potentials of Sarajevo Canton.
“This year, we have provided 10 million BAM to encourage agriculture, which is 2.9 million more than the previous year. The previous two years have shown that investments in agricultural incentives motivate farmers to further invest in mechanization, to increase their production, strengthen the quality of products and thus provide healthy, high-quality food for all of us, therefore we decided to further motivate farmers this year”, he pointed out. A fraction.
He reminded that the Ministry introduced the practice of buying up agricultural surpluses, which also gave good results, considering that farmers had a guarantee that they would market what they produced, and that this practice will be continued this year as a motive for an additional increase in the field of crop production. .
He also pointed out that tourism as a service activity is one of the most important branches of the economy, and that the continuity of investment in the development of tourist potential through the projects of the Tourist Board, as well as the companies KJP “ZOI 84 ” and Centar Skenderija, continues.
Almost 50 million BAM is planned for the renovation projects of the Olympic facilities, of which 15 million is for the continuation of multi-year projects, and 35 million for new projects aimed at developing facilities for the growth of both summer and winter tourism.
“The budget is of a developmental nature, considering that we paid special attention to research, renovation projects and additional enrichment of tourist facilities, strengthening of domestic food production and other important segments essential for strengthening standards and quality of life,” the minister pointed out .
Allocations to support the development of the economy and the business environment are also planned as in the previous year, and nine million BAM is planned for modernization, digital and green transformation for small and medium-sized companies, as well as for starting startup businesses.
Given that last year’s program for supporting projects that promote entrepreneurship and the business environment in Canton had a strong response in the business community, the Ministry planned 350,000 BAM for the promotion of entrepreneurship this year as well as through support for the organization of conferences, fairs, business forums and other similar events that represent Sarajevo as a desirable destination for business and investment.
