GOVERNMENT OF FBIH DIRECTS INITIATIVE COUNCIL OF MINISTERS BIH TO ADOPT STATE STRATEGY FOR FIGHT AGAINST CORRUPTION



SARAJEVO, MARCH 20 (ONASA) – The Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, in accordance with the conclusion of the session held last week, sent an initiative to the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina to adopt the state strategy for the fight against corruption as soon as possible, and in order for the Government to finally be able to adopt this strategic document at the federal level as well.
Let us remind you that at last week’s session, the report on the work of the Anti-corruption team of the FBiH Government for the past year was adopted, in which the activities to create assumptions for the development of a new federal strategy for the fight against corruption were highlighted.
However, as stated, its preparation could not be started due to the failure to adopt the strategy at the BiH level, and it was clarified that it has already been waiting for two years.
Therefore, the Federal Government is appealing to the Council of Ministers to adopt a national strategy as soon as possible.
Facilitating the adoption of the federal strategy, noted the FBiH Government, will facilitate the implementation of numerous activities on the implementation of the Law on the Suppression of Corruption and Organized Crime in the FBiH, within which the establishment and construction of the “Palace of Justice of the Federation of BiH” in which they will be housed are extremely important. Special anti-corruption departments at the Supreme Court of FBiH and the Federal Prosecutor’s Office, about which a Memorandum has already been signed with the High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council of BiH.
