MINISTER KOŠARAC WITH REPRESENTATIVES OF FBIH CHAMBER OF COMMERCE: ALLOW EXPORT OF PELLETS WITHIN 60 DAYS

SARAJEVO, DECEMBER 13 (ONASA) – BiH Minister of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations Staša Košarac received today in Sarajevo representatives of the Chamber of Commerce of the Federation of BiH, with whom he discussed current economic topics and the state of the chamber system in BiH.
Košarac informed the representatives of the FBiH Chamber of Commerce that he sent the BiH Council of Ministers a proposal for a decision on changes to the decision on the temporary ban on the export of certain forest wood assortments and wood products.
He pointed out that the proposal for that decision was made based on the conclusion of the Government of Republika Srpska, which asked the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina to allow domestic producers to export pellets to foreign markets for a period of 60 days.
Košarac said that the proposal to lift the ban on the export of pellets was supported by the Banjaluka Regional Chamber of Commerce, respecting the demands of the business community and the fact that demand has decreased because the needs of the domestic market for this raw material have been met.
– We believe that this is a justified request, because we want to meet the needs of the business community. Therefore, we are determined to change the decision on the ban on the export of pellets in such a way as to allow companies engaged in foreign trade to carry out contracted jobs abroad within 60 days – said Košarac.
He emphasized that, after the expiration of the mentioned deadline, they will move in the direction of introducing export restrictions in such a way that economic entities can export up to half of the produced pellets and orgie wood.
The meeting also discussed the possibility of extending the validity of the Decision on temporary suspension and temporary reduction of customs rates for the import of new electric and hybrid cars, since the deadline for applying this decision expires on December 31, 2022.
Košarac and representatives of the FBiH Chamber of Commerce jointly assessed that it is necessary to define standards and adopt a decision on the quality of petroleum liquid fuels, since this is one of the conditions for membership in the World Trade Organization.
The interlocutors also exchanged opinions on the situation in the Foreign Trade Chamber of BiH, and emphasized the need to improve the chamber system in BiH, MVTEOBiH announced.
