SARAJEVO, SEPTEMBER 5 (ONASA) – On Saturday, September 3, the millionth passenger passed through Sarajevo International Airport, almost two months before the record year of 2019.
In eight months of the current year, a total of 987,662 were processed, which is 21 percent more compared to the same period in 2019, and 10,912 air operations were carried out, i.e. 13 percent more compared to 2019.
It should certainly be mentioned that the month of August 2022 is the busiest month in the history of operations of Sarajevo International Airport, during which a total of 217,253 passengers were served, the Airport announced.
An interesting fact is that from the beginning of the year until the end of August of the current year, more than half a million more passengers were served than in the same period of the previous year.
“Judging by the current statistical indicators, we believe that by the end of the year Sarajevo International Airport could exceed the record in terms of the number of passengers from 2019, when 1,143,680 passengers were served. The credit for the success currently recorded by the busiest airport in BiH should certainly be attributed to the dedicated to the work and commitment of all workers, the Airport Authority, the Supervisory Board, as well as the Border Police of BiH, Air Traffic Control, the Cantonal Administration of Civil Protection KS, the Institute for Emergency Medical Aid and other supporting services”, they pointed out from the Sarajevo of the airport.
