SARAJEVO, AUGUST 1 (ONASA) – In the past 24 hours, in the Sarajevo Canton, out of 645 people tested, 19 new cases of coronavirus infection were confirmed. 13 of our fellow citizens recovered from the Covid-19 infection. In the same period, fortunately, there were no deaths from infection with this virus.
There are currently 31 patients in hospital treatment, 18 of whom have an acute infection, while the rest are post covid or are under observation or triage. 20 patients are treated at the Clinical Center of the University of Sarajevo, and at the General Hospital “Prim.dr. Abdulah Nakas” 11 of them. One patient is on a respirator, and two use oxygen support to breathe above 15 liters per minute.
Sarajevo Canton today records 103 active cases of Covid-19 infection. 763 people are currently in self-isolation.
Since the beginning of the pandemic in the Sarajevo Canton, a total of 52,965 people infected with coronavirus have been registered and 51,572 cured.
According to the data of the Public Health Institute of KS, in the past seven days the average number of infected is 14, while the weekly incidence, ie the number of patients per 100,000 inhabitants, is 23.
“Despite the reduction in the number of newly infected, and in order to maintain positive trends, we appeal to the population of Sarajevo Canton to respect personal protection measures – proper wearing of masks indoors and outdoors, maintaining a physical distance of 1.5 to 2 meters and hand hygiene. avoiding prolonged stay indoors where close contact is possible for a longer period of time and avoiding crowds and the mentioned spaces. All persons with acute respiratory disorders, fever, muscle aches and general weakness should stay home and contact the competent health services, Institute of Public Health of Sarajevo Canton.
In the Covid-dispensaries of the Public Institution Dom zdravlja KS, 38 patients were examined, one of whom was transported to the General Hospital for hospital treatment. A total of 183 PCR swabs were taken at the drive-in point in Vrbanja and in the Covid dispensaries. The Covid call center recorded 28 calls, and 47 interviews were conducted with patients via telephone numbers in Covid dispensaries.
During the past day, 2,470 doses of vaccines were administered on Zetra.
Today, there will be “Open Days” in Zetra, ie open access to vaccination for all citizens of Sarajevo Canton over the age of 18 in the capacity of daily vaccination of up to 4,000 doses.
