SARAJEVO, April 28 (ONASA) – General Manager of the ONASA Independent News Agency Elvira Begovic received today in headquarters of the Agency in Sarajevo BiH Presidency Chairman Haris Silajdzic, whom she informed over the work of the Agency.
General Manager Begovic pointed out that mission of the Agency is continuous contribution to development of true, independent and professional informing in advanced, European – oriented, multicultural and multiethnic BiH, by aiming on spreading of its network outside of BiH as well.
Chairman of BiH Presidency, after the visit of the working premises of ONASA Independent News Agency and talks with its employees, pointed out how he is positively surprised by the number of young journalists, who, in collaboration with experienced colleagues can give a full contribution to informing of public about the most important events in the country and abroad, but also about economic and overall development of BiH.
According to him, the special contribution can be given to it by the Commercial Service of ONASA Independent News Agency in the context of promotion of new projects.
By summing up the impressions of the visit to ONASA Independent News Agency, Chairman Silajdzic said that, generally observed, ONASA “looks sophisticated”.
“When we speak about the young people and the opportunities for the employment, we speak about the new values… We need investments in order to initialize the projects and to have employment,” Silajdzic bespoke, by stressing that BiH has the needed resources for launching of new production projects.
By speaking about the freedom of media, BiH Presidency Chairman pointed out that this, before all, involves their responsibility.
“Media normally are reflecting the situation in the society, so this is a case in our country as well… Media image is always a good indication of the condition of spirit in certain society. New communication technologies have facilitated the work to media in technical sense, but, at the same time, they made it difficult in terms that now we have many more participants in decision making. In other words, the technology introduced democratization in terms of decision making, and speed of changes, as a characteristic of the present time, made job to people who are engaged in this business significantly difficult, because it shortens the time for analysis and thinking,” Silajdzic stated.
In this context, by commenting the current situation in BiH media space, BiH Presidency Chairman assessed that our country must go through certain stages of development, due to the fact that “rapid economic, political and social transition, which in one country traumatized country can not pass without quakes,” was imposed to it.
Silajdzic took over the rotating duty of the Chairman of BiH Presidency on March 6 this year from Zeljko Komsic. (the end)
