FEDERAL MINISTER OF LABOR AND SOCIAL POLICY DELIĆ VISITED FACULTY OF TECHNOLOGY AND “ZEP-ING” IN TUZLA ON THE OCCASION OF THE WORLD DAY OF SAFETY AND HEALTH AT WORK








SARAJEVO, APRIL 28 (ONASA) – The Federal Minister of Labor and Social Policy, Adnan Delić, with his associates, on the occasion of marking April 28, the World Day of Safety and Health at Work, visited the authorized organization for professional work in the field of occupational safety “ZEP-ING” LLC. for protection and fire engineering in Tuzla, where he got acquainted with the personnel and technical capacities, as well as the professional work performed by this authorized organization in the field of occupational safety.
This and 16 other authorized organizations in the FBiH deal with, among other things, risk assessment at the workplace, procedures for shortening working hours at employers, training workers for safe work, periodic inspections and testing of physical, chemical and biological hazards and microclimate in work and auxiliary premises , tests of work equipment, personal protection equipment and electrical and lightning protection installations on facilities where occupational safety measures are applied.
Minister Delić also visited the Faculty of Technology of the University of Tuzla, where he got acquainted with the personnel and organizational capacities of this educational institution, and especially with regard to the occupational safety study program conducted at this faculty.
As part of this visit, the Faculty of Technology organized a meeting with the teaching staff and students of this faculty, with the aim of pointing out the importance of occupational health and safety in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and marking the World Day of Safety and Health at Work.
“In the context of this date, it is important to highlight the importance of the reform in the field of occupational health and safety in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina. By passing the new Law on Occupational Safety, which is harmonized with modern laws in this area, the system of rules ensures the prevention of injuries at work, occupational diseases and other illnesses related to work”, said Minister Delić.
He added that the focus of this law is on the implementation of preventive measures to reduce risks at work.
Accordingly, as he said, the Federal Ministry of Labor and Social Policy is continuously working on the promotion and improvement of occupational safety and working conditions, with the aim of protecting and improving the safety and health at work of all workers.
As part of the celebration of the World Day of Safety and Health at Work, the Federal Ministry of Labor and Social Policy invites all relevant actors to continue together with the activities related to the implementation and improvement of occupational safety measures, in order to achieve the prevention of injuries at work, occupational diseases and work-related illnesses.
The International Labor Organization (ILO) has declared April 28 as the World Day of Safety and Health at Work, which is also celebrated as a day of remembrance for victims and injured workers.
The aim of celebrating this day is to pay tribute to the victims of work injuries and occupational diseases, to improve work protection and to reduce the number of work injuries, occupational diseases and work-related illnesses. (end)
