CHAIRMAN OF BIH PRESIDENCY DENIS BEĆIROVIĆ: ABDULAH SIDRAN LEFT STRONG AND INDELIBLE MARK ON CULTURAL HERITAGE OF OUR COUNTRY WITH HIS WORKS






SARAJEVO, MARCH 24 (ONASA) – Chairman of the BiH Presidency Denis Bećirović sent his condolences on the death of academician Abdulah Sidran.
At the beginning of his address, Bećirović said that Bosnia and Herzegovina had lost one of its most important personalities.
“I was deeply shaken by the news of the death of academician Abdullah Sidran, our prominent writer, poet and screenwriter. Bosnia and Herzegovina lost one of the most significant figures in the modern history of our country. Abdullah Sidran left a strong and indelible mark on the cultural heritage of our country with his works. “We will remember him as a man truly committed to the idea of an independent and sovereign Bosnia and Herzegovina. He believed that an artist has an important social function, with the obligation to always choose the side of freedom, truth and justice,” said Bećirović.
He said that Sidran unwaveringly spoke about the uncompromising fight for truth and honor, the idea of a strong Bosnia and Herzegovina, until the last day.
“Academician Abdulah Sidran gave a lot to Bosnia and Herzegovina. With his works and involvement, he left us and future generations in debt. To the family, friends and all citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina, who appreciated the work of our writer, academician Abdulah Sidran, I express my deepest condolences. I wish the family , and eternal mercy to our Abdullah Sidran,” Sidran concluded. (end)
