SDP BIH: NOBODY CAN MISS BRIGHT ANTI-FASCIST MOMENTS OF BOSNIA AND HERZEGOVINA, NOT EVEN DARIO KORDIĆ

SARAJEVO, FEBRUARY 12 (ONASA) – The Social Democratic Party of Bosnia and Herzegovina considers the statements of the mayor of Mostar, Marijo Kordić, about how gatherings of anti-fascists in Mostar are glorification of criminal ideologies extremely dangerous and, to say the least, rude, the SDP of Bosnia and Herzegovina announced.
“Such deliberately targeted statements certainly do not contribute to calming down the situation in Mostar, and the mayor’s leveling of everyone, under the guise of non-binding declarations of the European Union, only adds fuel to the fire in a city that has not yet gotten over its wounds from the last war.
In order not to hold a history lesson that was confirmed by the whole world, or history, lest the mayor offend us, on Saturday the Mostar Liberation Day was marked, from the same ones that the mayor is trying to put on an equal footing with the famous anti-fascists.
It was marked by the same people, whose descendants also fought against fascism in this war, disguised as a hollow story about the awakening of the people. They commemorated it on the site of their anti-fascist ancestors, whom the mayor and his associates would prefer to raze to the ground.
We will remind the mayor that on Saturday no symbols of the regime were waved, but of the former SFRY state, where the mayor was born. The same one that was internationally recognized and that was created on anti-fascist foundations. In contrast to the NDH, which was and remains a puppet state of fascist leaders, created on the mass killing and expulsion of all dissidents, especially anti-fascists.
The fact that the mayor perfidiously made a connection with the children in his nationalist statement, who really are not to blame for having such a mayor, proves the impotence that the bright anti-fascist moments of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as the former state, cannot be overlooked. Because we are sure that even children know who were anti-fascists and who were servants of the fascists.
In the end, it’s not just the mayor trying to hide traces of anti-fascism in Mostar, his long-time allies from the SDA are also doing the same, who were recently bothered by a theatrical performance that would glorify anti-fascists, and tried to ban it under the ridiculous excuse that it insults believers and fighters. Army of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
As for the SDP BiH, we will never give up on Mostar being a city tailored to all citizens and in which all those who contributed to Mostar being like that will be celebrated, it doesn’t matter if it was about the near or distant past, the statement states.
