NAPREDAK CEREMONY CHRISTMAS CONCERT HELD IN MOSTAR

MOSTAR, DECEMBER 29 (ONASA) – Napredko’s festive Christmas concert was held on Thursday evening in the chapel of the Church of St. Peter and Paul in Mostar organized by the Croatian Cultural Society (HKD) Napredak, Main Branch Mostar.
Napretko’s trio Senso, consisting of mezzo-soprano Monija Jarak Mikulić, Marijana Pavlović on piano and Elina Gvozdić on cello, performed at the concert.
Along with Napretko’s trio Senso, Napretko’s scholarship holders, baritones Danijel Perić and Tomislav Perić, fourth-year students of the Music Academy in Sarajevo, performed, while the international character of the concert was given by the baritone of the HNK Osijek Opera, Karlo Miličević.
The special Christmas recital was read by Ema Tadić, a member of Napredka’s Main Branch Mostar, and Napredka’s scholarship holder Petra Anić was the program leader.
Visitors could enjoy traditional Christmas compositions such as “In the Season”, “Silent Night”, “I Proclaim Joy”, “All on Earth”, “Oh My Dear Child” and many others.
Support for the organization and holding of the concert was provided by the Federal Ministry of Culture and Sports, the Ministry of Civil Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Central Administration of the Napredak-Sarajevo Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Miroslav Landeka, president of the Mostar branch of the “Napredak” Croatian Cultural Association, emphasized that this cultural association has been organizing this musical event for five years in a row, and that they always try to hold it at the same time, after Christmas.
As he said, the concerts are always performed by people who are connected to Napredka or are its scholarship holders and doctoral students.
The Christmas concert is the crown of our work. This year we had many programs, different courses, Napredka culture week, we promoted our monograph and we are truly one of the few branches in the entire Napredka family that has a monograph in its city – said Landeka.
All these activities are aimed at encouraging as many young people as possible to join HKD Napredak.
This year’s competition for scholarships is nearing its end, and we hope that there will be new scholarship recipients, both from Mostar and from all over BiH and Croatia. What we can promise is that we will continue to be an important stone in the cultural mosaic of the city of Mostar – said Landeka.
