MEMBER OF PRESIDENCY BIH BEĆIROVIĆ: OUR COUNTRY EXISTED WITHOUT AN ENTITY, AND AN ENTITY WILL NEVER EXIST WITHOUT COUNTRY

SARAJEVO, NOVEMBER 26 (ONASA) – “Our country existed without entities, and entities will never exist outside the country,” said Denis Bećirović, a member of the BiH Presidency, in his address on the occasion of the BiH Statehood Day ceremony in the Presidency building.
“Bih. people have character and pride. We understand the threatened and disenfranchised best because we went through the calvary of the nineties,” Bećirović pointed out at the beginning of his address.
He also called for building a more positive social environment and for developing and building relations with all friendly countries on all meridians and parallels.
“Moving towards full membership in NATO and the EU is our strategic commitment. That commitment has no serious alternative. If I had to be the last person in Bosnia and Herzegovina to say that, I would say it,” he said.
“We have protected our land for centuries, and we will protect it in the times to come. Some people ask us, ‘What is yours?’ Ours is what was recognized by the whole world and what was permanently sealed in the UN on May 22, 1992. On that day, 175 countries of the world accepted our country into their family and confirmed the international recognition of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina,” he reminds.
“What is ours belongs to all the citizens and peoples of Bosnia and Herzegovina – to all together and to no one individually because no one has the right to destroy what is common,” said Bećirović.
He also emphasizes that the planetary certificate of statehood, independence and sovereignty was not issued to entities, cantons, cities or municipalities. In the UN, he adds, there is only one certificate, one address and one name – the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
“Dear friends, respected guests, let’s preserve the truth about the past together, let’s not give up in the present and believe in the future of BiH and fight for it. Let’s be proud of the first 1074 years since the country of Bosnia was mentioned in historical sources.
Let’s protect the country, especially children and young people. Let’s protect Bosnian, Serbian, Croatian and other children equally. These are our children and they deserve a peaceful and secure future.
Happy Statehood Day of Bosnia and Herzegovina”, concluded the member of the Presidency in his address. (end)
