FOOTBALL TEAM OF BIH AGAINST LUXEMBOURG TONIGHT

SARAJEVO, NOVEMBER 16 (ONASA) – Tonight, the football team of Bosnia and Herzegovina is hosting the selection of Luxembourg in the ninth, penultimate round of qualifications for the 2024 European Championship in Germany.
The BiH national team has already lost its chances to qualify for the Euro and the last two qualifying matches will serve coach Sava Milošević as a preparation for the decisive matches of the playoffs in March.
In tonight’s match, Milošević will not be able to count on several standard representatives, Edin Džeko, Miralem Pjanić, Sead Kolašinac, goalkeeper Ibrahim Šehić and Anel Ahmedhodžić, who has not been in the national team for some time, while five debutants have been invited, some of whom will be in the starting lineup tonight.
We have two games and it will certainly be a chance for each of them to get some playing time. It is also a good opportunity for those who have played less so far, to show how much they know and to what extent they can replace those who fail – said Milošević at the press conference before the match.
He points out that “it will be important for the team to prepare to play for the result, because that will be the most important thing in the play-off”.
It is also something that has to be practiced. It is certain that tomorrow is an important match for us because we have to have a clear picture of what we need to do in March. I am sure that the boys will take these matches seriously and that we will achieve our goals – added Milošević.
Rade Krunić, representative of the national team, notes that the BiH selection will lack a lot of experienced players, but believes that the team is experienced enough and should show as much as it can.
These will be great tests for us for future matches that will be very important for us. We are approaching the upcoming matches with great seriousness and it is certain that we will give our best tomorrow – stated Krunić.
This will be the ninth meeting of the BiH national team with Luxembourg, and in the previous eight BiH have recorded seven wins and one loss, with a goal difference of 17:3.
Tonight’s match, which will be played from 20:45, will be refereed by Andris Treimanis from Latvia, assisted by compatriots Haralds Gudermanis and Aleksejs Spasennikovs. The fourth referee is also the Latvian Aleksandrs Golubevs, the VAR referee is Dennis Higler from the Netherlands, and the VAR assistant is Kristaps Ratnieks from Latvia.
