TWO B-1B LANCER BOMBARDERS WILL MAKE LOW FLIGHT OVER SARAJE TOMORROW ON WAY TO BILATERAL TRAINING IN TUZLA

SARAJEVO, MAY 29 (ONASA) – Two B-1B Lancer bombers, assigned to the 7th Bombardment Wing from Dyess Air Force Base in Texas, will perform a low-flying flight tomorrow over Sarajevo and other cities in Bosnia and Herzegovina as a sign of the strong partnership between the United States and the Armed Forces forces of BiH (OSBiH) and permanent commitment to sovereignty, territorial integrity and multi-ethnic character of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
“Today marks the enduring bond between the United States and Bosnia and Herzegovina,” said General James Hecker, a member of the US Air Force and commander of US air bases in Europe, air forces in Africa and NATO’s Joint Air Command.
“The flight shows our commitment to building strong bilateral relations and is proof of our common values and goals. Through cooperation and understanding, we are building a path towards a future of peace, security and prosperity in the region”.
The bombers will fly over Sarajevo, but those two B-1B bombers will be seen all over the country.
In addition to this event, the aircraft will also participate in a joint military event near Tuzla, which will include the engagement of the Joint Tactical Air Control of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Special Forces of the US Army.
This event is a natural continuation of advanced bilateral trainings on an army-to-army basis.
The press office of the US Embassy in BiH notes that the overflight can be canceled at any time, even without prior notice, due to weather conditions or requirements related to the aircraft’s military mission.
B-1B bombers are stationed at RAF Fairford, United Kingdom, as part of the latest cycle of the Bomber Task Force.
Missions within this operation allow airmen to continuously conduct emergency operations around the world with the goal of maintaining global stability and security, while allowing units to familiarize themselves with operations in various regions.
The B-1B is a long-range heavy bomber capable of carrying the largest conventional load of guided and unguided missiles of any aircraft in the Air Force. The multirole B-1B is the backbone of America’s long-range forces.
It is capable of using large quantities of precision and non-precision weapons against any enemy, anywhere in the world, at any time.
A detailed description of the B-1B is available at https://www.af.mil/About-Us/Fact-Sheets/Display/Article/104500/b-1b-lancer/.
The media will have the opportunity to record the low flight of the bomber, the cooperation of the communication teams of the US Army and the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as statements by Ambassador Michael Murphy, Minister of Defense of Bosnia and Herzegovina Zukan Helez and Chief of the Joint Staff of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Colonel General Senad Mašović.
The start of the event is scheduled at 13:00 at the location of the TV transmitter in Grdonj, Sarajevo
The possibility of parking vehicles at the location is very limited and therefore the BiH Ministry of Defense will organize transportation for all interested media teams.
Media that are interested in transportation organized by the Ministry of Defense of Bosnia and Herzegovina should be accredited by email: info@mod.gov.ba by 16:00 today.
