VICE PRESIDENT OF FEDERATION BIH STOJANOVIĆ: AS LONG AS I’M DEALING IN POLITICS, ATTACK ON ANY MUSLIM WILL BE ATTACK ON ME TOO

SARAJEVO, MARCH 15 (ONASA) – The Vice President of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Igor Stojanović, commented today through his official Facebook account, on the International Day of Combating Islamophobia, the accusations leveled at him from opposing political circles in which, due to some earlier statements, he is being imputed Islamophobia.
Stojanović wrote that in Bosnia and Herzegovina the genocide against the murdered people of Srebrenica, as well as the other camps during the war, were organized against people just because they were Muslims.
“The Islamic Community of Bosnia and Herzegovina recently accused me of showing the beginning of Islamophobia. The reason for such an attitude of the Islamic Community is my statement from a year ago that for the SDA, the mosque is more important than the state. That statement was an answer to a journalist’s question about what I think about Bakir Izetbegović’s position that while are full of mosques, Bosnia will also be strong. A year ago, no one reacted, and today, when the FBiH Government is to be formed, unfortunately, they did,” wrote Stojanović.
He added that he does not intend to justify his political views to anyone and that he will remain consistent with them.
“But on this day, I want to say that as long as I am involved in politics, my obligation will be that every Muslim has his religious rights throughout the territory of BiH. And that any attack on any Muslim will be an attack on me as well. It will be equal and must not he lacks nothing. Just like no other believer, atheist or agnostic. The ultimate goal must be equality. That is Bosnia and Herzegovina,” said Stojanović.
