SARAJEVO, FEBRUARY 14 (ONASA) – In 2022, the FBiH Railways achieved the best financial results in the last 30 years.
The company’s total revenues in 2022 amounted to 127.9 million BAM, and total revenues to 126.7 million BAM.
Realized net profit amounts to 1.2 million BAM.
Operating profit, before expenses for interest, income tax and depreciation (EBITDA) in 2022 amounted to a record 29.7 million BAM.
“The net profit and operating profit we achieved in 2022 is primarily the merit of the workers and proof of the correct business policy of the company. We restored pride to the railway worker and at the same time responded to all business tasks. I would like to thank all the citizens who use our services, as well as business partners and institutions that have put their trust in us”, said Enisa Džafić, President of the General Director of the FBiH Railway.
Džafić explains that the key factors for increasing the company’s income were the increase in income from goods traffic, passenger traffic, providing services on the railway and renting locomotives and wagons.
In 2022, the FBiH Railways transported 8,053,533 tons of goods, which is 49,134 tons more than in 2021, when 8,004,419 tons of goods were transported.
In passenger traffic, the FBiH Railways transported 360,456 passengers in 2022, which is an increase of 170,123 passengers compared to 2021, when the FBiH Railways transported 190,333 passengers.
Total revenues from goods traffic amount to 89.9 million BAM and are higher by 19.8% compared to 2021.
Revenues from passenger traffic amount to 2.1 million BAM and are 94% higher than in 2021.
On 31.12.2022. 2698 workers were employed in the FBiH Railways, which is 101 fewer workers compared to 31.12.2021. years.
In 2022, 253 workers left the company for various reasons, 152 new workers were hired, exclusively for the tasks of organizing railway traffic, maintenance of railway infrastructure and maintenance of wagons and locomotives in the workshops of the FBiH Railways.
In the period from 2016 to 2022, the number of employees was reduced by 1026 workers.
“Due to the increase in labor productivity in the FBiH Railways, all employees in 2022 will receive an increase of 6.7% compared to the previous year. Recourse was also paid after 40 years, and in accordance with the Decree of the FBiH Government, a one-time aid in the amount of 800 BAM was paid to each employee, except for the company’s management, because the workers of the FBiH Railway are the most important for the results achieved by the company in 2022. said Enis Džafić, general director of the FBiH Railway.
The general director of the FBiH Railway pointed out that the achieved results enabled the company to regularly settle not only current obligations, but also obligations that arose in earlier periods.
According to public funds, based on taxes and contributions, 37.1 million BAM were paid in 2022.
Of the stated amount, 26 million BAM refers to current obligations, and the amount of 11.1 million BAM refers to obligations from earlier years (period 2001-2016), thus continuing the trend of reducing the main debt towards the FBiH Tax Administration.
In the course of 2022, obligations to the ITA of BiH were paid in the total amount of 1.9 million BAM.
FBiH railways have no outstanding obligations under the ITA of BiH.
“In the period from 2016 to 2022, liabilities to the FBiH Tax Administration in the amount of 224.2 million BAM were paid. Of the stated amount, 176.2 million BAM refers to current obligations, and the amount of 48 million BAM refers to obligations from previous years. This is another proof that the FBiH Railways, in addition to increasing the volume of work, also managed to stabilize their operations,” said General Manager Džafić.
