MAYOR KORDIĆ: MOSTAR WILL BE FIRST IN BIH TO HAVE SOLAR POWER PLANT FOR ITS OWN NEEDS

MOSTAR, JANUARY 30 (ONASA) – The city of Mostar was the first in Bosnia and Herzegovina to start the construction of a solar power plant for its own needs, Mostar Mayor Mario Kordić announced on the official website.
“Namely, based on the analysis of the potential in relation to the number of hours of sunshine and changes in electricity prices on a global scale, we made a decision to build a solar power plant of 5X12 = 60 megawatts (MW),” the announcement states.
In relation to the needs of the city, when it comes to the public lighting system and other expenses, the mayor adds that it is estimated that this production capacity will significantly reduce the cost of electricity.
“We are currently in the process of obtaining all the necessary permits in order to start building the solar power plant this year,” said the mayor of Mostar.
