SIPA ARRESTED MILOŠ LUČIĆ, MINISTER OF MINISTRY OF HUMAN RIGHTS AND REFUGEES CMBIH, FOR CORRUPTION




SARAJEVO, DECEMBER 6 (ONASA) – Acting on the order of the prosecutor from the Special Department for Organized Crime, Economic Crime and Corruption, SIPA police officers, with the assistance of the MUP of the RS, carried out an action to detain suspect Miloš Lučić (1986), current Minister in the Ministry of Human Rights and Refugees of Bosnia and Herzegovina. it was announced from the BiH Prosecutor’s Office.
Along with the deprivation of liberty, searches are carried out of the office premises as well as the place of residence of the suspect, as well as other facilities, in order to find evidence of committed criminal acts.
Suspect Lučić is under investigation by the BiH Prosecutor’s Office and is suspected of the criminal offense of abuse of position or authority, connected to several corrupt criminal offenses, which caused damage to BiH budget funds, and obtained illegal property benefits for the suspect and his close and related persons.
Through the conducted investigation, evidence was gathered that the suspect committed gross abuses in the area of spending funds intended for the national team, illegally serviced vehicles with unauthorized persons, misused employment, as well as a number of other illegalities that are covered by the investigation.
The prosecutor and the investigator of the BiH Prosecutor’s Office coordinate the activities of police authorities and determine further investigative activities to be undertaken.
The suspect, accompanied by SIPA, will be handed over to the acting prosecutor within the legal deadline, who will make a decision on further activities after questioning the suspect.
