SARAJEVO, APRIL 26 (ONASA) – Mayor Ibrahim Hadžibajrić, MA, hosted today the newly elected mayor of Sarajevo Benjamin Karić, who visited the Municipality of Stari Grad, which was her first stop as part of a visit to city municipalities, the Municipality said.
During the meeting, they discussed the revival of cooperation between the City of Sarajevo and the Municipality of Stari Grad and the implementation of joint projects of interest to the whole of Sarajevo.
As it was pointed out during the meeting, the Old Town is the heart of Sarajevo and tourism, therefore the City and the Municipality have a common interest in continuing tourism, infrastructure, cultural and other projects.
“We have agreed to work together on the implementation of projects of mutual interest and intensify our cooperation. I am glad that I visited the municipality of Stari Grad and talked to Mayor Hadžibajrić about specific projects where we found full understanding and support, “said Mayor Karić.
During the meeting, Mayor Hadžibajrić spoke about the most significant investments in Stari Grad realized in the previous twelve years, and said that in order to continue the development of this local community, and thus the city, it is necessary to work on changing the legal regulations.
Regarding joint projects, Mayor Hadžibajrić and Mayor Karić discussed the reconstruction of the Observatory on Trebević.
“We talked about the joint realization of the reconstruction project and the return to function of the Trebevic Observatory. The Municipality of Stari Grad will give full support to this project in order to provide the necessary funds in the coming period and return this facility to its original condition, which would return to the citizens and tourists another tourist attraction, “said Mayor Hadžibajrić.
In addition to Mayor Hadžibajrić, today’s meeting with Mayor Karić was attended by the Chairman of the Municipal Council of Stari Grad Mirza Batalović, PhD, and the Mayor’s associates: Adela Plakalo Assistant for Property Law, Geodetic Affairs, Cadastre and Housing, Aldiana Kavazović Assistant for Economy, Selma Velić, assistant for local development and local community affairs, Almedina Porča, assistant to the head of public relations, and Adis Hadžović, assistant to the head of investments and communal affairs.
After the official meeting, Mayor Hadžibajrić took Mayor Karić on a tour of the renovated building of the Municipality of Stari Grad Sarajevo. (end)
