HEAD OF KUPRES MUNICIPALITY VISITS ONASA AGENCY
SARAJEVO, October 1 (ONASA) – General Manager of the Independent News Agency ONASA Elvira Begovic received today at the Agency ONASA seat in Sarajevo the head of Kupres Municipality Stjepan Herceg, whom she informed about the work of ONASA, as an agency which became recognizable in the country and wider region for its professionalism and objectivity.
Municipal Head S. Herceg said that the independent media, such as ONASA, are very important in any society, adding that today the most important role is played by electronic media.
However, Herceg said he was “not satisfied with the media in BiH”.
“We are not sufficiently covered in the media. When, several years ago, there was a heavy snow in Kupres, no one mentioned us on the Federal television,” said Mayor Herceg.
According to him, the media are competing only in what is negative, and do not give enough space to the positive things.
“It creates a negative climate and pessimism among the people. A positive atmosphere and optimism should be created. People who have the opportunity, space and knowledge to do something are becoming wary. Also, some things are invented and added. When did the front page of some print media have a positive news?” asked the head of Kupres Municipality Stjepan Herceg. (end)
