ZZOKS: MORE THAN 150 MEDICAL MEANS AVAILABLE TO INSURED PEOPLE FROM JULY 1

SARAJEVO, JUNE 27 (ONASA) – The Health Insurance Institute of Sarajevo Canton announced that from July 1, more than 150 medical devices will be available to insured persons of Sarajevo Canton and equal access for all.
This news is the result of a transparent public call and the conclusion of contracts with 86 suppliers of medical equipment.
The Health Insurance Institute of Sarajevo Canton, after a transparent public call, concluded contracts with 86 suppliers of medical equipment, which will make more than 150 medical equipment available to insured persons of Sarajevo Canton from July 1, 2024.
All suppliers of medical equipment could equally apply to the public call.
The new contracts have significantly increased the number of medical resources that policyholders can receive at the expense of mandatory health insurance funds.
For the first time, insured persons will be able to exercise the right to a children’s neurological wheelchair, sensors for continuous blood sugar measurement, a compression sleeve and glove for lymphedema, apparatus and strips for measuring the prothrombin time in the blood, wigs made of natural hair dryers for children, a Braille typewriter, a speech sphygmomanometer for the blind, as well as many other resources prescribed by the Regulation on the Scope, Conditions and Ways of Exercising the Rights of Insured Persons of Sarajevo Canton to Medical Devices.
The list of suppliers of medical devices where certificates can be realized will be published on the website of the Institute and available in all branch offices of the Institute.
As the Director of the Institute, Muamer Kosovac, pointed out, this is a big step forward for the healthcare system of Canton Sarajevo, which confirms the Institute’s commitment to providing the best possible health care and care for all insured persons.
“By increasing the number of available medical resources without additional payment, we strive to make the daily life of our insured people easier, especially those who need these resources very much. We will continuously monitor the quality of the delivered assets and the satisfaction of our policyholders in order to ensure the highest standard of service, because the policyholders are our first priority,” said director Kosovac.
Representatives of the orthopedic companies Cemedic, KS Reha, Bauerfeind spoke at the official signing.
“Earlier there were difficulties in our work, but for the first time something concrete was done in an extremely transparent way. During his mandate, Director Kosovac took really concrete steps in terms of improving health care, and that is to be commended,” said the representatives of the orthopedic companies.
They thanked for the cooperation so far and praised the transparent and efficient work of the Institute’s management under the leadership of director Muamer Kosovac, and emphasized that the significant improvement of the Institute in a short period of time, as well as the care for the insured, was noticeable.
The conclusion of these contracts will significantly affect the lives of many patients and their family members.
Among them are patients with severe incontinence who are in dire need of diapers, pads and similar products, and people with disabilities who use orthopedic aids, such as wheelchairs and prostheses.
The application of the contract on the delivery of medical devices will be under constant control, in accordance with the legal and by-law regulations, with an examination of the insured’s satisfaction with the delivered devices. (end)
