SARAJEVO, MAY 17 (ONASA) – In accordance with the Instruction on deadlines and the order of election activities for the Local Elections of 2024, which will be held on Sunday, October 6, the deadline for submitting applications for certification of participation in the elections for political parties and the deadline for independent candidates is May 24, 2024 at 16:00.
To date, 290 political parties and independent candidates have submitted requests for opening a user account for access to the e-elections online portal to the Central Election Commission of Bosnia and Herzegovina, namely: 113 political parties, 163 independent candidates, 12 independent candidates belonging to national minorities and two citizens’ associations – candidacy of an independent candidates belonging to national minorities.
To date, three independent candidates have completely completed the process of submitting the application, that is, apart from sending the application electronically, they have fulfilled the obligation to deliver the original documentation to the headquarters of the Central Election Commission of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The Central Election Commission of Bosnia and Herzegovina will not publish an overview of political parties and independent candidates who have submitted a request to open a user account or an application before the deadline for submitting applications for certification of participation in the 2024 Local Elections has expired, the institution announced.
The Central Election Commission of Bosnia and Herzegovina reminds that applications for certification of a political entity, as well as applications for candidates and lists of candidates, are submitted exclusively electronically, via the online portal of the Central Election Commission of Bosnia and Herzegovina “e-elections”.
Access to the online portal is achieved using any internet browser using the address of the election portal of the Central Election Commission of Bosnia and Herzegovina (https://eizbori.izbori.ba).
– We emphasize that the application for verification of a political party or an independent candidate must, among other things, contain the account number of the political party or independent candidate for the financing of the election campaign, as well as the report on the turnover of the special account for financing the expenses of the election campaign, in accordance with Article 15.1 d paragraph (1) of the BiH Election Law (bank statements or analytical bank card).
We emphasize that the application submitted electronically does not release political subjects from the obligation to deliver the original documents in person to the headquarters of the Central Election Commission of BiH (Danijela Ozme St. 7, Sarajevo) before the deadline for submitting applications expires – CEC of BiH states.
The Central Election Commission of BiH reminds that citizens of BiH who are abroad, if they want to register to vote from abroad, must submit their application for voting outside of BiH through the e-Elections portal by 24:00 on July 23, 2024.

To date, 1,219 users have accessed the e-Elections portal and opened an account.
623 applications were processed, of which 526 voters meet the requirements for enrollment in the Central Voter’s List for voting outside BiH, while 97 voters have deficiencies in their application, and have been notified to correct the deficiencies.
Finally, the CEC of BiH reminds that displaced persons within BiH, if they want to change their voting option for the 2024 Local Elections, need to submit a request to the competent municipal/city center for the voter list by July 23, 2024.
