SARAJEVO, JUNE 28 (ONASA) – The central ceremony of the Rijaset of the Islamic Community (IZ) on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr was held this morning in the Gazi Husrev Bey Mosque in Sarajevo, where the Eid khutbah was delivered by reisul-ulema Husein-ef. Kavazović, reports MINA.
“In our time, we all have to sacrifice something, like Ibrahim, peace be upon him, in order to establish the values on which we will base our lives and the lives of our community. The divisions and isolation we are witnessing now will not save us. They only increase the selfishness that further opens the chasms of fear and bigotry among us. We have to get out of the vicious circle of our delusions that others are better than ourselves,” said reisul-ulema Kavazović in his sermon.
Reisul-ulema reminded us that in the chosen time of Eid al-Adha, we are gathered in the fellowship of glorifying the Lord, on the road that leads us to the shelter of the Kaaba, Allah’s Honorable Temple.
“The Most Merciful made him a qibla, the goal of our spiritual journey and growth. From its foundation, Ibrahim, peace be upon him, sent a call to the human race to believe in one God, to sincerely profess faith in Him and to live in peace. Even today, even though thousands of years have passed, we witness the power of this call, which changed the course of human history. Faith in God and the arrangement of the world that springs from that faith brought the human race prosperity and progress, a happy and peaceful life. Today, while we perform the rite of sacrifice, let’s remember the life path and the sacrifice this prophet made. Ibrahim, peace be upon him, as the Qur’an teaches us, was an ummah unto himself,” said the reisul-ulema.
He added that Ibrahim, peace be upon him, was an example of honesty, obedient to Allah, a true believer, and was grateful to Him.
“His life path was the path of new spiritual and ethical values on which the community of tawhid, faith in one God, was founded. It is a community that was formed at the great sacrifice, the sacrifice that Ibrahim, peace be upon him, made when he was thrown into the fire; and then when he was tempted in Egypt with his wife Sarah; and then when he was tempted with his son Ishmael with a great sacrifice; and then when he left him alone with his mother Hajera in the valley of the desert of Makkah,” said Reisul-Ulema.
He emphasized that Ibrahim, peace be upon him, had to “sacrifice his own family, leave behind his family, house and relatives, in order to found a great family of people that we all refer to today, Muslims, Christians, and Jews”.
“The heart is the source of inner strength, and faith is the inspiration that gives strength to achieve what at first seems impossible. In faith, good and evil, truth and lies are separated, the right path from error. Ibrahim, a.s., with the power of faith, changed himself, and with him the course of human history. Let’s learn from his life path to change ourselves, so that we don’t remain blind and so that we don’t have to sacrifice our children and drive them away from us,” said the reisul-ulema.
He said that “we all have to move in the same direction”.
“It is not possible to bring our ship into a calm harbor on a turbulent sea without joint effort, without giving to others and accepting from others, without establishing justice that will ensure equality and respect for everyone, especially for the weakest among us. It is long past time to learn an important lesson about the country we live in: there will be no peace if alliances are made against each other, because such alliances will only increase suffering and division. Only if we all stick together can we win,” stressed the reisul-ulema in his address to the believers present.
He emphasized that those who “build the house of peace with faith in God will be on the right path.”
“And God’s way cannot be against people, because violence and enmity are the opposite of it. In order to build a better world, we should undertake our journey to know each other, to share common memories, fears and experiences. Only in this way will we be able to build a common house, like the one built by Ibrahim, a.s., in Makkah, and save it from our own greed. We need to live together in it, to keep our memories and memories, to build our future from it, and for it to provide us with security”, stressed Reisul-ulema.
In the sermon, he called for today’s blessed day to remind us of the journey of Ibrahim’s son Ismail, peace be upon him, pointing out that the story about him carries many messages for all of us.
“The life of every living being is a gift, a miracle of God’s creation. The life that is born is a value in itself. Man himself is this same value, not what he owns. We must save ourselves, and this wonderful world around us, from our greed, which has no limits,” said Reisul-Ulema.
He also pointed out that the story about Ismail, a.s., draws attention “to our children, who are most often the victims of our carelessness and neglect of their upbringing and upbringing”.
“These days we were reminded of this by a sad event in one of our schools. That unfortunate child of ours is just a victim of his parents’ carelessness and the environment in which he grew up. It is high time that we understand that growing up our children without the fundamental values of faith and education will turn both their lives and ours into a nightmare and despair. We all need the words of Ismail, a.s.: My father, act as you are commanded; you will see, God willing, I will endure everything. This is how sons and daughters who were brought up to understand the trials they face in the family and the world around them respond,” said reisul-ulema Kavazović.
He said that it is necessary to resist “Iblis’ call to sin, crimes and debauchery, and respond to the call of Ibrahim, a.s., and raise our family on the values on which he and his sons raised their sons and daughters.”
“Let’s listen to the advice of our greatest teacher Muhammad, peace be upon him, according to which a parent can leave nothing better as a legacy to his child than a good upbringing. Let’s make sure that our descendants are sincerely devoted to Allah, let them clean themselves and fulfill their vows, let them perform the prayer and from that what Allah gives them they share and sacrifice in the name of Allah. Let their role models be Allah’s messengers and good people, not war criminals, criminals, corrupt people and people without a face. What have we witnessed these days in this city”, emphasized the reisul-ulema in the Eid sermon.
At the end of the sermon, the reisul-ulema sent congratulations on the occasion of Eid al-Adha to the faithful in the homeland of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Slovenia, Serbia and the diaspora.
“Wherever you live, live in peace and friendship, with your relatives, neighbors and friends. Don’t let differences keep you from our primary need to be human. I invite all people to work together to raise our families, raise our children and build our community. Let’s ask the Lord of the worlds to lighten our burdens of this world, connect our hearts and be merciful to us on the Day of Judgment. Bajram sherif mubarek olsun”, said reisul-ulema Kavazović.
